Getting started

Body design workflow:

Designing a vehicle body in Delta-Cross Concept isn't a very easy task. It can take a hefty amount of time for a good design. However, it can be made easier using some guidlines and tips and following a sequence of actions explained here.

Before we began, layout should be defined, suspension should be designed and engine should be selected for the vehicle. All the materials that are to be used in the body design should be added to the 'Body materials' list in the materials section. Guage cluster should also be designed. Then, you can visualize these things in the body design panel and you can design the body accordingly. Design the body in the following sequence.

Now add meshes for:

Make sure to create sGroups for each body panel and assign to respective body panel. For dashboard, interior trims and door sills, leave them 'unassigned' so they will be attached to the main body. For door interiors, attach them to respective door i.e. '_Door FR/FL/RR/RL/Hood/Tailgate'. Also assign meshes to respective body parts.

Now add some nodes for each of the following.

If you add a rear wing after it, you may come to the body design again to adjust its position.
